Styrofoam Collection Day - Saturday, April 12

Styrofoam food containers stacked in a pile
Styrofoam must be disposed of as regular trash or the Lebanon Solid Waste Facility. However, an opportunity to recycle certain types of polystyrene is coming up.

Sustainable Lebanon is once again partnering with the Lebanon Rotary Club to offer a polystyrene (Styrofoam) collection day on Saturday, April 12, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Hanover Street School (193 Hanover Street) in Lebanon. The event will take place rain or shine. There is no fee, but donations are welcome to support the cost of trucking.

Clean rigid polystyrene #6 (EPS) and #6 foodservice foam will be collected and driven to the Gilford, N.H., facility where it will be melted for reuse. Rigid foam packaging for appliances and styrofoam coolers are EPS. Foodservice foam includes rigid food containers, trays, cups, and egg cartons. Please remove tape and labels and food residue or other debris.

We will not take #4 EPE or #6 XPS foam insulation board.

No foam peanuts: they should be brought to the UPS Store (10 Benning Street, West Lebanon) in the Shaw’s Plaza for reuse.
