Historic Preservation at the Plainfield, NH Town Hall: Restored
Stage Rigging
The
town of Plainfield, NH has restored and preserved the 100+ year old theatrical
stage rigging of its historic stage set created by Maxfield Parrish in 1916 as
phase one of an ongoing historical restoration to preserve this treasured
cultural venue for generations to come. The rigging supports three overhead
drapes, the backdrop, and original Kliegel lighting.
This
short video is narrated by Eric Durett of Lakeman Theatrical and Rob Gattie,
Plainfield Town Hall Committee.

Parrish Stage Set including the set and stage area? We are dependent on
grants, fundraising, and donations to continue our work preserving the stage,
the set, and the town hall for future generations to enjoy. The Maxfield
Parrish Stage Set Committee of the Plainfield Historical Society is accepting
donations. Donations may be sent to Maxfield Parrish Stage Set,

If you would like to volunteer to assist with grant
writing, fundraisers, events, or have other expertise related to our
preservation of the Stage Set and Town Hall, please email us at [email protected].
If you have historical pictures or memories of the
town hall and events held there, please share them. We often hear people say they learned to square dance,
attend town meeting, graduated from 8th grade on the stage,
performed in a play, dance recital, variety show, or performance.
