Recreation Commission
The Recreation Commission is responsible for developing and administering sports programs for children, grades K to 4, in Plainfield. See Recreation Programs for T-Ball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, and the Annual Fishing Derby.
Trails for Hiking, Biking and XC Skiing
Plainfield Trailblazers This volunteer-based trail group will provide recreational, educational, health fitness, social and alternative transportation opportunities to Plainfield's residents on an organized trail system which encompasses the diversity of landscape and land use in this rural community. Its goal is to increase the sense of community and community interest by promoting the interaction of residents from all areas of Plainfield.

Snowmobiling
BLOW-ME-DOWN SNOWRIDERS -- The Blow-Me-Down Snowriders Club was started in 1971 as a family oriented, non-profit organization. We now have approximately 56 miles of trails that wind through the towns of Cornish and Plainfield that are groomed and maintained by the volunteer time of our members.
Mountain Biking
The Upper Valley Mountain Bike Association The UVMBA formed in 1999 to create a collective voice for mountain bikers throughout the area and to perform trail work and improvements. In the subsequent years the group has continued to add to and rebuild multi-use trails in Plainfield, Lebanon, Norwich, Hanover, Hartford, and Windsor.
Cross-country Skiing
Plainfield has 15 km of groomed XC trails near French's Ledges which can be accessed from the Plainfield School parking lot. These trails serve as a base for the Lebanon HS XC team as well as programs offered by community members for elementary and middle school students These multi-use, all-season trails are built, groomed, and maintained by volunteers and funded with donations; no tax dollars are used.
